Hornby Island, BC Canada - July 4th Weekend! 2017

Directions

1. Take the Tsawwassen (Vancouver) to Duke Point (Nanaimo) ferry. Reservations are recommended www.bcferries.com. The crossing takes 2 hours.​
   1. The 12:45 pm ferry from Tsawwassen should put you on the ferry that leaves Buckley Bay at 4:05, but you won't have time to stop;  you'll arrive at Hornby Island Diving ~ 5 pm, in time for dinner (usually served promptly at 6 pm).
   2. ​We'll probably start driving Friday after work and stay North of Seattle, possibly in Marysville; then we'll take the 10:15 am ferry from Tsawwassen. We won't make the 1:15 pm ferry from Buckley Bay, so we'll have lunch and catch the 3:15 ferry.
2. From nanaimo, drive about 1 hour north to Buckley Bay.
3. Take the 10 minute ferry from Buckley Bay to Denman Island.
4. Drive across Denman Island to Gravelly Bay (13 minutes).
5. Take a 10 min ferry to Hornby Island.
6. On Hornby, follow Central Road to the four-way stop. It is the only four-way stop on the island. Turn right and drive to Ford Cove. Close to where the road ends, the marina will be on the right and driveway for Hornby Island Diving will be directly across from it, and is marked.
7. Return: we plan to be on the 12:45pm ferry leaving Duke Point (to Tsawwassen).

What to Bring

1. Cert cards, including nitrox if applicable
2. Passport and/or Nexus card
3. If you bring your own tanks, you only need ONE. (80 cu. ft. aluminum tanks are available, as are wieghts.)
4. Headlamp or flashlight
5. Hangers for drysuits, hoods, and gloves (some are available)
6. Swimsuit for the sauna (optional)
7. Soap, shampoo
8. Soda, beer and/or wine, if desired
9. Slip-on footwear. They request that you remove your outdoor shoes while in the lodge.
10. Cash or checks. Hornby Island Diving accepts credit cards, but many other island businesses to not. Canadian currency is appreciated, but US dollars are also accepted.

Notes

1. Linens and towels are provided, no need to bring any.
