Trip Includes

Schedule

  • Saturday: arrive at Egmont, do 1 dive
    • Meet Kal at the dock in Egmont at  2:30 pm; do one dive.
  • Sunday: 3 dives
  • Monday: 3 dives
  • Tuesday: light breakfast then drive home

Directions

  1. Drive to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry, 6750 Keith Road, West Vancouver, BC V7W 2V1. (There are other ferry terminals in the area, so make sure you go to the Horseshoe Bay terminal.) This is ~ 1 hr 20 minutes north of the boarder, without traffic. 
    1. If driving up in the morning, people usually get on the road in the wee hours of the morning.
    2. If driving up the night before, people usually choose to stay north of Seattle (to avoid Seattle morning traffic).
    3. The Peace Arch boarder crossing is open 24 hours, with a Nexus line that opens at 7 am. They Lynden crossing opens at 8 am and has no Nexus line. 
  2. Take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale. 
  3. Drive ~ 1 hr 20 minutes to the Government Dock in Egmont, next to Bathgate's General Store (1376 Port Mellon Highway, Langdale, BC V0N 1V0 to 6780 Bathgate Rd, Egmont, BC V0N 1N0).
  4. We will wait for Kal to arrive ~ TBD pm, load the boat with all of our items for the weekend, park our cars, then take the ~ 10 min boat ride to Strongwater Retreat. We won't return to the dock until its time to go home.
  5. We'll unload the boat and prepare for the first dive. (We won't have lunch here, so plan ahead. Eating on the ferry, bringing a lunch, or taking the early ferry and eating in Sechelt are options.)

What to Bring

  1. Passport and/or Nexus card
  2. If you bring your own tanks, you only need two. If you want to use Kal's please let us know.
  3. Headlamp or flashlight
  4. Hangers for drysuits, hoods, and gloves (some are available)
  5. Swimsuit for hot tub (optional)
  6. Soap, shampoo
  7. Soda, beer and/or wine, if desired

Notes

  1. Linens and towels are provided, no need to bring any.
